“Receive, Renew, Remember”
to listen to this past Sunday’s message, click here: www.newlifechurchmo.org/sermons

Jeanne Doering (in a “Leadership Magazine” article entitled, The Passover Potluck) described how “when a jeweler displays a fine diamond, he often puts it on black velvet. There, it catches fire from the lights of the room, its beauty multiplied, and its value becomes more apparent.
“The Lord's Supper is like that diamond. Sometimes it needs to be pried from traditional settings and thrown against the black velvet of the blackest night in history: the night it was instituted--the night before Christ was crucified.”
When we receive the sacrament of Holy Communion it is as if the love of the Lord is magnified, His grace is illuminated and the strength He offers us is tangible.  In this Holy Meal Jesus still offers us renewal and redemption.

Based on 1 Corinthians 11:23-26:
“Take the bread…cup of the new covenant….in remembrance of me”

A Prayer to Pray:
Lord, You came to this earth to seek and save me from missing out on my Creator’s best for me.   Thank you for the reminders of Your gifts in Your Word and in the tangible reminder in Communion.  As I continue to receive Your gifts, Lord, renew me and empower me to remember Your gifts and Your way.  In your Holy and Powerful Name, I pray.  Amen.

Please Also Pray for:
  • Bob Meyer(Larry Meyer's brother). Defective heart.
  • God' intervention in the Ebola epidemic.
  • Kevin Brunkhorst--recovering from severe burns, still hospitalized.
  • Continued recovery for Ruth Dreyer and Celeste Schreifer
  • The nation of Israel...protection, salvation, That they would turn to God as their hope.
Constitution & By-Laws
A vote on the Constitution & By-Laws is scheduled for Sunday, October 19, 10:40 a.m.  After receiving input during two gatherings last week, an updated copy will be e-mailed out this week with details regarding the changes.  As you have questions, feel free to contact anyone on the leadership team or Pastor George.
Picnic Time - Location Change!
This Sunday's fellowship picnic has been moved to the Washington City Park Pavilion (2nd & High Streets, by the City Pool).  We will still have games and activities.  Please bring a potluck dish to share for lunch at about noon.
