Several people met after church this past Sunday to brainstorm and come up with a design idea for the New Life Christmas parade float. We are excited to announce that our theme will be "We Believe" (and no, not in Santa :)). We wanted our focus to not only represent who we are as a church, but to send an uplifting message to parade spectators with the true meaning of Christmas. Our plan is to attach the words "We Believe" on the sides of our float while a few members of our worship team sing the News Boys hit song "We Believe" as well. Also on the float we are going to incorporate a large lit star over a manger scene with live characters (Mary, Joseph, Shepherds, Wise Men and Angels). We will pass out New Life magnets and postcards (with Christmas service information). Our first float work day will be this upcoming Saturday, November 15th at 3:00 pm (We will be meeting at the home of the Arnold's...if you are interested in helping please contactJennifer Kazmaier or Amanda Griesheimer for directions). We do have a few needs to make this come together, so if you have any of the following items that could be donated or borrowed please let us know as soon as possible.
We will be having a New Life Picnic @ the Dutzow Pavilion (take Hwy 47 North of Mercy Hospital, 3 miles past the bridge, then take a right on Hwy 94 at the Dutzow light. At the Hwy 94 & Hwy TT junction, stay straight ahead on Hwy TT to the Dutzow ball fields on your left (ball fields are approximately 1.4 miles from 47/94 intersection). Watch for signs with directions on Sunday!
Come to worship on Sunday dressed for the picnic and head over after worship. As of now it looks like we will have a sunny 81 degree day to get better acquainted, have some fun and food together, listen to a Blue Grass Band and/or simply relax! Please bring a potluck dish to share as well as a lawn chair, as picnic tables are at a minimum. Washers, wiffleball, tug-O-war and other games are planned. For younger kids there will be 2 “bounce-house” inflatables It has been an amazing 3 weeks for New Life Church. We have many things for which to be thankful!
We feel God’s blessing in so many ways on New Life Church. Thank you for being a part of it! Currently, the leadership team is searching for an association or denomination that aligns with our interpretation of the Bible and our vision of discipleship and evangelism. Such a partnership would provide us with fellowship, training, and resources to further the reach of God’s kingdom. We know affiliating with a denomination is a big step, and not one to be taken lightly, or without the input of our church body. The leadership team was able to meet with Al Frank, a representative from the Evangelical Free Church of America, to learn more about the denomination. Now it is your turn!
Sunday, June 29, 6:30 p.m. at New Life Church We invite you to participate in a Question & Answer session with Al about the EFCA. He will explain their roots and mission, and give us a clearer picture of what a partnership with them would look like. Please come with an open mind and open heart, but also prepared with the questions that need to be asked. Feel free to review the EFCA website beforehand. As a leadership team, we very much want to hear from the congregation on this matter. Please pray for the team, and for the congregation to hear God’s call for New Life Church clearly. In other news… Please take a few minutes to view the New Life Church website at www.newlifechurchmo.org. The site will continue to be updated with information and will be a great resource to our congregation and to the public. We're also on Facebook! To all interested families and friends, Since you have expressed an interest in staying connected regarding the new church, we wanted to provide you with a quick update of where we are in this process. Please continue to pray for the leadership team, that we pursue and act on God’s wisdom and discernment.
